Grand piano lamps offer optimum lighting so musicians see the music and keys to play their best. Using grand piano lamps prevents musician eye strain for the most beautiful music possible. Often grand pianos are used in a concert or performance venue. Attractive grand piano lamps also become a focal point for the audience during performances.

A grand piano is different from other types of pianos. Much like the name indicates, grand pianos are bigger than other types of pianos. Grand pianos come in three basic sizes including the Baby Grand Piano, the Standard Grand Piano and the Concert Grand Piano. Grand piano lamps are designed to shed light over the largest pianos found in concert halls throughout the world.

Grand piano lamps are made specifically for larger grand pianos. Because of their size, grand piano lamps might overwhelm a smaller piano such as an upright or spinet. Most sheet music is about 12 inches wide. Properly positioned grand piano lamps are about 3 to 6 inches above the sheet music for plenty of directly light where the musician needs it most.

The illuminating glow from grand piano lamps is pointed at the sheet music rather than the player's eyes so there is no unwanted glare. Overhead lighting is insufficient for musicians to see every precious note for a masterful performance because the light is not as focused and direct.

Grand piano lamps clip onto the the music sheet or music stand. They can be bigger much like grand pianos, but despite their size, grand piano lamps are also lightweight so musicians can transport them as needed from performance to performance.

Musicians need additional light in a specific area to create their magic. Most grand piano lamps clip onto a music stand for very focused light. Some grand piano lamps that don't clip on, however, have an adjustable balanced arm to direct light anywhere it is needed most. When the arm is moved, the weighted base keep the grand piano lamp firmly planted to the floor. Even the darkest performance venues are wonderfully illuminated by grand piano lamps.

Grand piano lamps are also an aesthetic part of the show. The audience expects a grand piano player to be lit up by the directed light of a grand piano lamp. Using an attractive grand piano lamp draws the audience's attention to the music even more and enhances the overall experience of the performance.

Grand piano lamps come in an array of sizes, styles, designs and shapes to appeal to every type of performer. Choose from fancy antique designs, contemporary styles, streamlined shapes or an old-fashioned look. Select grand piano lamps to match the mood and time period of your musical selections for a completely professional show. From graceful to bold, there are grand piano lamps for every performer.

Because grand piano lamps are portable and provide directed light, everyday people also use them. Grand piano lamps work well in homes, offices and art studios. They shed extra light on a certain areas that might not get enough illumination from overhead lighting or regular lamps.
