If you want to know how to promote your business online, then consider using eBay. There are many folks who use eBay as a springboard for their other business ventures. For instance, they 'test' out a product on the eBay site, using a reduced price, just to see if buyers are interested in what they have to offer. This eliminates buying a large amount of any product until sellers ensure there is a market.

Secondly, selling on eBay is cheap price testing. Perhaps you sell your product at a rock-bottom price of $29.95 - and it's a huge hit with eBay buyers. Then test a price of $34.95 and keep raising your price until demand ceases. Since eBay has a reputation for being a "bargain" site, buyers will flock to it and there will be many customers available to give their price point input.

And naturally, selling on eBay is a great way of bringing new products or new customers to you. If your customers are happy with their experience with you, they will return to your online store again and again. They will also provide you with free market research by asking questions which will reveal other items they're interested in. After all, why not expand your merchandise if you have a strong and loyal customer base?

Important note: this works against any seller who is less than scrupulous and kind to her customers. Scam artists and dishonest eBay sellers will suffer greatly because this kind of loyalty isn't for sale at any price. Good. It's a great way to weed out the scam artists.

The Law of Supply and Demand

eBay is a great platform for selling inventory that is not moving from your business. You no longer have to lose money by holding onto items that are out of season or are no longer popular.

By offering these up on eBay, you can get more money instead of drastically slashing prices in your brick and mortar establishment or online store.

A benefit of listing your items on eBay is that you know your products already and you know the quality of what you are selling so it's easy to write killer sales copy.
And with the eBay's world wide domination, you have a whole new group of customers who have not seen your wares.

When you get good feedback from your customers, your eBay reputation goes up and that will help you in other areas. If you want to buy anything on eBay for yourself or your business it's a good probability the seller will be more agreeable on the price because of your outstanding eBay reputation.

Small Business Promotion & eBay Profit

eBay is a great source for getting rid of old product, but remember, you are in your business to make money. eBay offers you a lot of different ways on how to get information out about yourself such as an "About Me" page and through this, you can add links to your other sites and stores. When you link your business site from your auction site, you can drive more potential clients to buy your products at full price.

To find out more information about creating an "About Me" page, just log into your eBay account and go to the 'Tutorials' section. eBay gives you the option of filling in your information yourself or they will give you a step-by-step process and do it for you. Post relevant and intriguing information about you and your site, put in a link and you are finished and soon enough you will notice more unique visitors dropping by your site.

Many business owners find this method to be very profitable since they can sell directly and cut out eBay out of the transaction. And what's nice about this method is that you know the people are there to buy something since they were just looking at one of your auctions.

So if you're looking for new ways to promote your business online or offline, turn your attention to eBay. Your new customers are waiting.
