Between men and women, the latter are more conscious about how they look. They are the ones who would spend thousands of dollars for cosmetic surgeries by the time that the first signs of wrinkles or crow’s feet appear.

Hey, you really do not have to do that. Besides being a waste of money, these cosmetic procedures may also put your life in grave danger later. There are so many ways on how you can delay the aging process and look beautiful even if you are already 40 or 50:

1. Stay out for fifteen minutes. Despite what other people say, you need adequate exposure. This is how you can compel your body to produce vitamin D, which can help in your bone health. You just need to ensure that you do not stay out for more than 20 minutes. The best time to get sunlight exposure is in the first part of the morning, usually before eight o’clock.

2. Eat foods that are high in nutrients. Your diet should consist mainly of fruits and vegetables. These are high in nutritive value, such as vitamins C and E, which can help fight against free radicals.

Though you can never stop the loss of collagen on your skin as you get older, you can slow down the process by giving your body cells enough capacity to protect themselves from toxins and free radicals.

3. Drink plenty of water. Water is the best fluid there is. Besides being cheap, it also has a lot of benefits to your health. For one, it moisturizes your skin, making sure that it is hydrated all the time, and you will not experience redness or itchiness. Water is also needed by the body to function properly. Keep in mind that a good portion of your body is composed of water.

4. Exercise daily. Make it a point to do something strenuous for at least thirty minutes every day. You do not have to stick with the usual exercise routines. You can play a sport, ride a bike, or hike from the bus stop to your home. Exercising can maintain mobility and ensure that your bones are still in perfect shape. Sedentary lifestyle, on the other hand, can weaken the muscles.

5. Eat less. As you grow older, your metabolism would start to slow down, making it difficult for you to get rid of excess fats. Thus, to prevent the development of diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, or kidney infection, it is time for you to eat less, especially on fat and meat, and more on high-fiber foods or fruits and vegetables.

6. Introduce omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids can do a lot of wonder to your health. One of these is they can reduce or eliminate depression, which can develop during menopausal stage. They can also lower down your cholesterol level by increasing HDL or good cholesterol, so you can protect your heart and improve blood circulation. Researches also show that omega-3 fatty acids can help fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
