Those are the blessed ones, special and one of a kind. But even they, though without formal instruction rely on some sort of mentor or teacher – it could be their parents.

• You need to have a regular time for practice. This is because, practice makes you learn more and polish the skills that you acquire. It is necessary that practice is made a part of your daily schedule so that you can have more opportunities to learn, learn and learn some more. Aside from this, you need to have a quiet place where no one and nothing is bound to disturb you. This is because distractions can easily side-track you from what you are doing making it hard to regain the momentum that was lost. Believe me; practicing those stubborn fingers to work in harmony while your other hand is moving back and forth is harder than it looks. So, you should practice a lot to look comfortable in playing the violin.

• Keep your goal in mind. Always fix your eyes on your goal. You have to be set on this because discouragement and other negative factors can make you stray from your plans. You must always keep on being persistent and consistent. After all, playing the violin is the reward you are looking forward to.
