When trying to manifest something you want with the Law of Attraction, you may be tempted to “cling to it” emotionally, which will create unnecessary delays and obstacles. By clinging to something, I mean obsessing over it, worrying about how and when it will show up, and asking the universe for it (or “begging”) constantly.

You may have heard it said that we only have to ask for a desire once, and the universe hears our request. But if that’s true, why doesn’t it always work? You can probably recall plenty of requests you asked for but didn’t receive. There can be several possible reasons for that, but one of the most likely is that you were too attached to it, emotionally.

When you become attached to a specific outcome or experience, you are communicating an instant signal of “need” and “lack” to the universe. You are saying, “I don’t have this thing I want, and I really, really need it now!” Knowing how the Law of Attraction works, it’s probably not surprising that you will simply receive more and more experiences of needing something badly.

Detaching, on the other hand, is a wonderful way to help bring your manifestations into physical form. When you truly detach from something, you are communicating the message, “I know this thing is coming to me and I completely trust you to deliver it in the most perfect way, with the most perfect timing, universe. Thank you.” Not surprisingly, the universe will usually do just that.

But how do you detach? How do you let go and trust when you need something badly (or even just want it badly)?

One good way is to keep reinforcing your belief that the universe has your best interests at heart. Do you really believe that the universe is kind and loving? Do you really believe that the universe hears your every request? Do you believe that the universe WANTS you to have what you want?

You may believe these things intellectually, but if you don’t believe them deep in your gut, you will be tempted to keep clinging to your intentions in an attempt to force them to manifest.

Make this your constant litany all day long – and especially when you catch yourself worrying or obsessing: “I trust you, universe. I know that you want what’s best for me, and I know that you are working on this for me. I know that all is well, and things will only get better from here. Everything I desire is already on its way to me. All I have to do is trust and let go, and you will work your magic.”

You don’t have to use those exact words; let them come from your heart. But let them express your undying belief that all is well and everything you desire is on its way. When you really believe this, your circumstances will begin shifting to reflect such a reality.
