Jill is the key custodian for an interior design firm. There are portable models designed to easily move keys from one location to another without disturbing their organisation, while still keeping them relatively safe. For those that require tight security to hold an important set of keys, there are key vaults that come with digital combination locks, built-in security cameras and/or an alarm system.

Key cabinets typically have three locking systems - key locks, manual combination locks and the digital/electronic combination lock system. Some key cabinets have a dual lock system for added security. The high-end techie key cabinets with programmable combinations are best for businesses with a whole lot of keys and many different people requiring access to the key cabinet at the same time.

Buying a Key Cabinet

Obviously, you have a wide selection of key cabinets to choose from. Choosing one is largely a matter of preference and your particular need. Know how many keys or bunches of keys you need to organise and control, how many people get access to the key cabinet and the type of keys you would be holding in. Don't buy anything more than would adequately meet your needs. A sound choice would be something whose features and storage capacity match your purposes.
