It is statistically figured that when a thief entered the home of a victim, their visit last no longer than six minutes. Most experienced thieves, and even those new in the breaking and entering game, are likely to head straight for your valuables in the obvious places. With such a short window of opportunity, thieves are likely to seek out hiding places and the rooms where valuables and cash are likely hidden.

As a homeowner, it is important that you think like a thief when protecting your home and valuables. A key to outsmarting the burglars is to place your valuables in plain site – well, sort of. Diversion safes are a great way for homeowner's to hide their important things right out in the open. These safes are constructed to look exactly like regular household products but contain an opening to fit your cash, jewelry, and other important property.

Diversion safes come in many different varieties that allow you to hide your belongings all throughout your home discreetly. In the kitchen, diversion safes in the shape of a can of dog food, a can of soda pop, or in a brand-named cleaning spray can. In the living room or bedroom, there are faux books with a hollow center that is not distinguishable from the real thing sitting side by side on the bookshelves. Diversion safes are also available for use outside of the home. They are made to look like products in the backyard, including rocks, thermometers, and planters where house keys can be hidden in plain view.

Diversion safes look exactly like the regular product they are modeled after, making it extremely inconspicuous to those who do not know better. They are also relatively inexpensive to purchase and afford a consumer several choices in order to disguise hidden valuable easily within any home environment indoors and out. Since there is little time for a burglar to lift and shake every container in the home, it is likely that the common household products will be easily ignored. The ability to for homeowner's to leave their valuables close at hand is also a plus. It can help prevent you from having to dig through closets and into deep hiding places to have access to what you need.

If you are looking for diversion saves for your own home, you should look at the variety of products in order to get the right product, shape and size for your security needs. You can also bring the smaller diversion safes with you while traveling to prevent theft from hotel rooms. They are convenient and very innovative, with new designs being developed to meet the needs of every household.

While many homeowners may imagine their home environment is always safe, it is never too late to be prepared, Home thefts are on the rise and anyone can be a target, especially during tough economic times. When a thief breaks into your home, they will like head to the closet, looking for floor or wall safes. Never would most people expect to find valuables hidden in diversion safes that look like lettuce, an electrical outlet, or even a pair of dirty underwear.
