Ghaziabad is rich in cultural expressions that originated from ancestral domains. The creations reflect the kind of life the first inhabitants of the town. Similarly it has preserved the beautiful places signifying the past.

Ghaziabad is a city rich in culture and tradition. Art is one of their greatest treasures that they preserve. The importance of religion into their life is also expressed by the places that they continue to preserve.

Kathak is one of the most popular traditions of Ghaziabad. It is a classical dance form introduced by Emperors and Nawads of Awadh Empire. This is composed of classical Hindustani music and a rhythmic step of the feet with the Tabla. Raslila is another popular dance form for the average people. Compared to kathak, it incorporates more drama in its performance. When it comes to songs the most famous are folk, classical and semi forms. The two most popular are Ghazal and Qauwwali.

Ghazal is a poetic expression composed of rhyming couplets and refrain. The couplets are composed of 5 or more lines sharing the same meter. There are several Indian singers who became popular because of ghazals. It comprises two extended metaphors like expression of joy and agony.

Qauwwali is a devotional expression composed of instrumental preludes with various tone melodies and preamble verses. It starts with a gentle state then moves to a higher or stronger level. This is to attain the spiritual goal of singing it.
