Before Denver grew into the big metropolitan city that it is today; it used to be regarded as only an airport stop over for visiting the mountains and ski areas. This is a bustling city that has a lot to offer. Although it is called a modern city, Denver has a rich, long history.

It is a cultural city and you will enjoy visiting the Denver Arts Complex which covers over four city blocks and has eight theaters. Here you will find the new Opera House, and you will also be able to see concerts and dance performances year round.

Denver has diverse neighborhoods that each has their own separate personalities. For instance, the Berkeley Park neighborhood is home to many art galleries, boutiques, bakeries and coffee shops. The Old South Pearl Street neighbor has an eclectic mix of shops and businesses. It also hosts a farmers market every summer.

Denver is a spread out bustling metropolitan city and Denver International Airport is the nation’s largest and is 53 square miles. Denver also has the nation’s largest city park system. There are more than 200 parks within the city limits. Denver is considered to be a sports capital and has all four major league sports teams, plus two professional soccer teams.

There are so many things to do here and in the surrounding areas that you will never run out of places to go. You are only about thirty minutes away from world class skiing, hiking and snowboarding. Inside the city limits you will find a variety of parks and museums to explore. There is also the zoo and aquarium which are great for the whole family.

You can visit and view the red sandstone formations which are said to be over 250 million years old. In the evening you can enjoy concerts and see some of the biggest stars take the stage.
