Centennial Colorado is a newer city and offers the best of both worlds. It has all the amenities of city living with the safety and friendliness of suburban and semi rural neighborhoods. The city of Centennial is a home rule city, which means it is self governed and the Home Charter determines the form of government.

The city was formally formed on February 7, 2001. In June of 2008 they held a home rule charter convention a new charter was adopted. The city covers about 28 square miles and since it is a newer city it still doesn’t have a lot of name recognition from people from in the area. It is located near the cities of Aurora and Littleton and Denver.

Denver is close by and offers a variety of things to do and see. The Mile High City has the nation’s largest city park system and miles of urban trails to enjoy. In the area there are dude ranches, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting to take pleasure in.

If you are into sports or enjoy watching Pro sports, Denver is the place to go. You can also go there to visit a variety of museums and galleries. Your children will love to visit the Children’s Museum of Denver. The museum is divided into different exhibits which are called Playscapes. The different Playscapes allow your child to discover and explore different avenues of interactive fun. There is fun for all ages and something for everyone to see and do.

You can spend a day with your family exploring the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It has a variety of exhibitions, programs and activities to explore the wonders of Colorado, the Earth and the Universe. They have programs in six main areas and include exhibits, IMAX films, classes and lectures. The main areas that you can experience and learn about are: Anthropology, Geology, Health Science, Paleontology, Space Science and Zoology.

If you enjoy contemporary art you must visit the Museum of Contemporary Arts, which is known as MCA Denver. It is a huge complex that has five distinct galleries, spaces for education, and a live art and lecture hall. They rotate their exhibits so every time you visit you will be able to experience something new.

It was founded in 1996 and was Denver’s first contemporary art museum. Ten years later, David Adjaye was commissioned to design a new permanent home for the museum. You can visit the museum which is located near Denver’s historic Lower Downtown and Union Station to see all of the exhibits.

Centennial is quaint place where there are many neighborhoods and plenty of shopping and local attractions. It is the ideal place to reside if you work in Denver or one of its surrounding suburbs. Denver is within driving distance so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. You can reside in a small quiet community and have all of the amenities of a big city at your disposal.
