As the yeast grows on sugar and starch you also have to stay away from all kinds of sugar and refined wheat products such as pasta. Whole grain pasta is a much better choice.

Drink lots of water and stay away from coffee and sodas. Herbal teas are a good substitute for coffee and sodas.

What else can I do?

This will of course depend on where you have the infection. For a vaginal infection you can soak a tampon in natural, unflavored, unsweetened yogurt and use it at least three timed a day until you are rid of all the symptoms. For a skin infection the yogurt can be applied as a cream.

If you have an oral yeast infection the first thing you need to do is get a new toothbrush. Make sure you wash it very well in hot water after each brush and let it dry thoroughly to prevent re-infecting yourself with the spores growing on your toothbrush. Further take a spoonful of unflavored, unsweetened, natural yogurt and keep it in your mouth for a few minutes before swallowing.
