The success of a business is determined by the entrepreneur who should be taking full responsibility for business sales and operations. To avoid adding to the statistic of 90% of businesses failing in their first year, business owners should take note of the following 5 effective qualities of an entrepreneur.

With no particular order, here are the qualities an entrepreneur should have:

1. High Goals

When people start a business, their hopes normally shrink after several months or when they see sales are not as good as expected.

Successful entrepreneurs persist. They will work at their business to achieve the goals they originally set. Setting high goals means you have a vision for your business. Something that you will go all out to achieve. Lowering your goals will depress the entrepreneur and their future actions are reflected in this.

Maintain your original goals and focus on making things work. The majority of successful business owners failed many times. If they gave up on their vision, there would be no big companies in the world.

2. Understanding the market

To run a business successfully, one must understand the market that they're selling to. They must understand everything about their prospects from the language they use to the places they hang out.

Business depends on sales. To get sales, you must know exactly what your prospects want and need. Market to places where they visit and use their language in your marketing material.

If you don't know your prospects, your business won't last.

3. Great organizational skills

Nearly all successful entrepreneurs have great organization skills. They plan out their business operation, organize their budget and finances, and know exactly how they want their company to operate.

If you lack organization in your life, then improve on this quality as soon as you can. With an organized personal and business life, business owners are more focused with their tasks and can reach their goals quicker.

When chaos occurs in the company, the entrepreneur normally has a back up plan or an alternative. The reason is because their thoughts are organized. They have foreseen such disruptions to their business and have already thought of a back up plan.

Business owners who organize their operations will have a team working harmoniously together with effective work, achieving the business' goals.

4. Great relationships

All entrepreneurs have great relationships with the relevant people. You may see business owners being aggressive during negotiations but at the end of the day, they have excellent connections which help their business.

The relationships you should focus on building include your suppliers, the media, business partners, marketing companies and your senior staff.

With good, close relationships people are more flexible to help you. They will provide exceptions for your case if you need help. With great relationships, you'll be able to build a great business.

5. Knows how to hire and use staff

And finally, entrepreneurs know how to hire and use staff. No one can do everything in their business so entrepreneurs know what sort of staff they need to hire and how to use them.

If you're a business owner who wants to take their business online, you will need to hire staff experienced in this area. You give them your vision and you let them run with it. Entrepreneurs know how to hire quality staff and use them to add value to the company.

Nearly all entrepreneurs have these 5 qualities in them. They may not know it because it's in their character. If you have a project to take your business online for example, you would need these 5 qualities to make it a success. Read through the list again and make sure you show these qualities the next time you launch a project.
