You've started your internet business and you've got everyone around you giving suggestions on how to proceed. No surprises there. Some make sense while others just like to be heard. But the bottom line for many is how much time should be spent 'working' on this new venture? This article touches on what actually constitutes 'work' as you move forward with your business.

Most people start their home based business because they want to earn a passive, but steady income online. It works, but as you cut time out of your schedule for your business, are you spending it 'working', or building your e-business? The differentiation actually represents a state of mind, and can vitally affect the success of your new endeavor.

For most of our adult lives, we've associated 'work' with essentially negative feelings. Waking up at an hour you'd rather not. Driving up to an hour and more in smelly, congested traffic. Pushy supervisors pestering more productivity. Incompatible relationships with your colleagues. When the term 'work' is conceptualized, we move quickly to the inherent negatives that we've been conditioned to feel. So when we're told building an at home business takes work, we demure and immediately shy from it, and who can blame us? Work for us has been an oppressive, but necessary evil in our everyday lives.

Your mission as an entrepreneuer is to free your mind of your biases. If work is your fiscal curse word as it is for countless others, then stop. Think. What REALLY are you doing while you create your business? You create! You learn new things! You open different and exciting possibilities! You make money! When you are passionate about what you do, it ceases to be 'work' as it is negatively connoted. The 'pain' association ends and the pleasure association begins. It becomes something exciting!

Pushy supervisors? That's work. There are no supervisors when you own your own profitable e-business!

Cramped cubicles? That's work. In e-business, there are no offices. You work where you desire. You can work in the park...or in Paris!

Back-biting colleaugues? That's work. You work with whom you desire with your e-business!

Traffic gridlocked? That's work. If you're a business owner, you only get caught in gridlock accidentally!

Waking up at 5:30am? That's work. When you own your own business, your spouse wakes you up at 5:30am!

Do you understand the point? When you're in the comfort of your own home, there is no work. There is only a concentrated effort to be one of the many people who have and continue to be highly successful running their own internet business. Take it a step further and make it fun, too! If you do this, then there is simply no room for boredom, failure, or the rigorous corporate tedium that drains the soul out of you like a monday vampire. Stop working and have fun!
