Graphic Designer Job

Graphic designing is an interesting and creative field .You can do graphic designing as an additional job along with your work.

For graphic designing basically you need a bachelor’s degree and you should have the knowledge of computer design software.

Graphic artists are also recognized as graphic designers, designers, creative directors, composing room supervisors and design directors.

Nature of Work

The major role of graphic designers includes:

• Creating and designing magazines, newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other publications.

• Creating or designing brochures for variety of products for product companies.

• Designing unique logos for different business and services.

• Developing symbols or graphics for any business or government. While designing symbols or graphics, first designer should understand the need of a client and study on the message which the symbol is trying to convey. While designing, think about all the aspects like cultural physical and social.

• Graphic designers also may produce the credits by using specialized computer software packages, which appear before and after television programs and movies.

• Collecting all the information and build up material for Internet Web pages and multimedia projects.
For drawing sketches, a designer uses technical skills like animation and visual effects or drawing by hand.
Helping printers in printing as well as in publishing firms for selecting the paper type and ink for the publication.

Education and Training

For graphic designing a bachelor’s degree is necessary for initial and higher level graphic designing positions. The National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) is a recognized institute with bachelor’s degree in fine arts or graphics design.

Many universities, colleges and private design schools also offer bachelors course along with studio art, principles of design, computerized design, commercial graphics production, printing techniques.

To give more information in graphic designing course, other subjects like sociology, cultural studies and marketing subjects are also added.

In addition to graphic designing, designer should possess skills like imagination, hard work and good collection of designs. He/she should give rapid response to the altering trends and possess the capacity to do work autonomously and under stressful conditions also.

A person who is running his own firm should have production intelligence or sense and be aware of the new and upcoming techniques.
