Do not promote your products directly at these forums, this will quickly get you shunned by the people on the site and probably banned, you can however add your links with a small 1 – 2 sentence marketing byline to your forum signature. Make your forum posts meaningful and helpful and you will quickly see a steady stream of traffic heading to your landing page because you will have demonstrated yourself to be an expert on the topic in question.

There are also some third party sites that every affiliate marketer should utilize as part of their campaigns. First and foremost on this list is Squidoo. Squidoo is a site where you can create a webpage, called a lens, about a topic of your choice. These pages get a lot of traffic internally from other Squidoo users. Additionally, if you were careful about selecting targeted keywords your Squidoo page will have a good chance of getting a first page ranking. This can bring a lot of free and very targeted traffic to your website. I never start a new affiliate marketing campaign without building a Squidoo lens targeted toward it. It is important when you make a Squidoo lens that you do not make the lens into an obvious sales page. Make one that provides the user with good information and limit the number of promotional links you include to just 1 or 2.

You can make a lot of money in the affiliate marketing business. Create campaigns that are robust and cover a wide spectrum of marketing techniques and you will see your first pay check faster than you ever thought possible.
