When we sing, we use our emotion in order for us to express the silent voice of the song. Emotion is a powerful tool in singing admiringly. Take note of the professional singers. When they sing, they display emotions that are appropriate for a certain song. Imagine them singing without using a single emotion. They would look bland and boring. The audience easily connects with them if they show feelings while performing.

Have you ever experienced listening to a song that left a mark in you; sometimes, making us cry or just that good feeling afterwards. Songs that we secretly hum and repeating it in our head all day long until we got it right?

There are different emotions used in different songs. If a song got you, it means that the singer did his or her job correctly. But if not, there is something wrong on the way it was delivered. Sometimes, the emotions used in a particular song are the reason why people react to it, appreciating it more.

How can one give justice to a song using their emotions?

We already established the different emotion for different songs notion. The general idea is connecting oneself to the song you are singing. When doing that, you are also connecting yourself to the audience.

Amateur and professional singers alike give importance to their diction, perfecting the melody of the song and widening their vocal range. I can’t say that this is not important, for they are the most basics in singing but focusing also with genuine emotion in singing and revealing a part of yourself thru your emotion while singing is also vital.

Have you ever noticed that the person that is performing in front of us usually takes over the scene? He or she can make or break that moment; bring joy or melancholy to anyone who listens to the song.

Where do we dig up the emotion needed for a particular song? Every one of us has experienced sadness, happiness, excitement or passion. In one way or another, using these emotions to the songs, you can tell the precise story of the song.

But there others, who cannot express the right emotions while singing. There are others that sings a very sad song but have big smiles plastered on their faces! And vice-versa. Practicing in front of the mirror is a big help. You have to master controlling your facial muscles also. The right facial expression can also lure and charm your audience in your performances. Look at Andrea Bocelli, the Tuscan tenor. We can’t even understand some of the lyrics in some of his songs, but did that stopped us from listening to him? I don’t think so. We are amazed and enchanted by his voice; the sincerity and the reality in it. What appeals us most is the emotion he displays in every song that he sings.

Enable for you to sing better, use your emotions in your songs. Let yourself get carried away by it. Master it and even you will be surprised how different and improved your singing voice will be.
