There are simple and basic rules that you must think about when you have set your mind on parrot training. If you are still not confident that you can deliver right to be able to be successful in the venture, you may want to find out first how other people successfully handled the training of their birds.

You will be able to gather more information when you allot time on your research. You can do it traditionally, like looking up at printed books on how you can go about the matter. There are various materials that you can find that tackle this subject in a broad manner. If you are really interested in knowing more techniques and other scientific analysis with regards to this, you must start looking for books that can provide answers to your queries.

These days, it is a lot easier to search about this kind of topic on the internet. There are sites that can give you scientific responses and step-by-step procedures. There are also sites where you can gather information based on the writers' experiences. You can check out personal blogs of those who have tried parrot training. You can also join online forums and participate on discussions so that you will be able to get to know more people who have tried the course and you can ask them for more tips and recommendations.

Once you are sure that you can do this and that you can handle everything from start to finish, here are some basic rules that you must follow. At the start, it may feel like you are doing the training as part of the task. But as days go by and as you see the improvements on your pet, you will definitely feel proud of your accomplishments. The process also allows you and your bird to bond as you shower them with quality time when you can get to know them better and they can also acknowledge you as their friend and master.

1. You must learn how to properly reward your bird. If the process is hard on your part, it is harder for your pet. It is just like teaching your child things and ways of life that may be easy for you. But you have to understand that everything appears new and complicated to the child, so you need to capture their attention and make sure that they are going to listen and obey you. The rewards system is a very useful technique to be successful in this regard. Through this, the child or your parrot, in this instance, will have something to look forward to that they will exert effort to do what you are telling them to do. Through time, you will be able to learn the favorite rewards that your bid likes to get.

2. If it is food that your bird likes to get as reward, you must make sure that you don't give them the item very often. You don't want to overfeed them while you are in the process of parrot training because this may present a bigger problem for you as a pet owner. You can sometimes praise your pet for the improvements that they were able to present. You can interchange the real rewards and praises. This will also be good because your bird won't learn to rely too much on your reward before they can showcase their tricks to other people.
