With proper business planning for your online business, there are a lot of tasks which you don't need to do. They can be automated with some out of the box thinking and some useful software. Here are 3 methods which you can immediately implement into your business and save a lot of time working.

1. Sell In The Backend

One of the most useful things to automate in an online business is using various methods to up sell to your customers.

For this you need an autoresponder account which can send emails to your customers which you have set up in advance.

For example, every new customer who signs up to your list, will receive an email every couple of days which you have written in advance.

So after a customer purchases your product, you can follow up with them for a long time, building your relationship and selling them more products.

If you have several products then you can sell to your customers in the back end automatically using your autoresponders. So for every customer you get from selling a product, you can sell them several more products without you lifting another finger.

This is automation at its best and you need to do some business planning right at the start to gain maximum benefit.

Here is a brief summary of how you can use this method.

After a customer purchases a product from you, send a thank you email to them automatically with your autoresponder account. In the same email, recommend one of your products which is related to the product they bought.

Your objective is to inform the customer that you have more products that they may be interested in. You are doing them a favour by trying to help them.

You can continue to sell them recommendations of your products over a span of several months, depending on how many products you have.

The key is not to sell them with every email. Give them some useful information in several emails and then send a recommendation email. This way, they won't find you as being too pushy and will enjoy reading your emails.

2. Tell a friend script

When you do your business planning, you should always make a note of how to grow your list exponentially. One of the fastest ways to grow your list is by implementing a 'tell a friend' script.

When a subscriber or a customer signs up to your list, send them to a page where you offer them an unadvertised bonus. Make sure this bonus is valuable and useful.

Then state that to get the bonus, they need to refer some of their friends to your website. If your bonuses are attractive, then people will refer people to your website. This is building your list on auto-pilot.

Use a tell a friend script to implement this feature and watch your email list grow much quicker.

3. Ask to be an affiliate

To further increase your sales, use your autoresponder and ask the customer or subscriber that they can be an affiliate for your products and services. Tell them about your commission payouts and how they can earn money by selling your products.

A lot of the times, people appreciate this opportunity and will spend time signing up for the affiliate program and trying to make some money.

By implementing this simple strategy, you are automatically hiring salesmen to your team to gain more sales.

There are lots of other strategies you can use such as asking customers for a testimonial after a week or so of their purchase and sending them videos on how to use your products. This will ease the amount of calls to your help desk. So take a good look at your operation and do some business planning to automate your online business.
