Your best friend is getting married! It is so exciting and to top it all, you are the maid of honor. I’m sure you love every minute of the preparations, but, that maid of honor speech looms in the distance and now you are looking for Maid Of Honor Speech Ideas.

The first thing I want to say to you is, relax, there are a few guidelines you have to follow and you will be fine. Get a few good maid of honor speeches samples, keep the following guidelines in mind and simply add the correct detail and you are done!

Important points to keep in mind when you are thinking about maid of honor speech ideas:

* The first and most important rule is, never embarrass anyone, most importantly not the bride and groom, but also not any of the guests. This is very important as you do not want to spoil the wedding for the happy couple.

* Always check with the bride if she is comfortable with everything you are going to say. Remember, as her best friend you are probably privy to some information she does not want the whole world to know about.

* Always introduce yourself, remember ot everyone necessarily knows who you are!

* Keep the guests in mind. There will in all probability be children and older members of the family at the wedding. Do not say anything that is not suitable for all ears!

* Never try and give a speech that is totally alien to your personality, you will not pull it off with success.

* Always use humor to lighten things up, but do not overdo it and always keep it within the limit of good taste.

* Do not read your speech from your notes, but keep them handy, maybe in the form of flash cards, to remind you of what you wanted to say, must for incase you get a little nervous and forget what you wanted to say. It happens, even to seasoned public speakers!

* There is no harm in taking a drink just to calm yourself down, but please, do not drink too much before you have to make your speech. A drunken maid of honor blabbering there is not a pretty sight and will not help to make your best friend’s wedding an occasion she wants to remember for the rest of her life.

* Keep your speech short. No more than eight to ten minutes. If your speech is too short, you cannot say anything of consequence and if it is too long you will bore the guests. This also depends on your skill as a public speaker. If you can keep them captivated for a little longer, it is OK, but if you are reading this, you are probably not a seasoned public speaker!

Now it is time to go and get a few maid of honor speeches examples and to implement these maid of honor ideas I have given you.
