A child wakes up hungry and knows there is no food to eat. Their brothers and sisters are hungry as well. Someone offers their parents money for food for the child. The parents give up the child to feed the others. Now the child is far from the comfort of family facing people with high expectations. They have to work. It may be making things that will be sold or it may themselves being sold. Forced to sit in a room as men look them over, deciding who they are going to have sex with. A man points to them and they have to do as the man asks or face worse from the people who own them. They have no life, no school, and limited food. They don’t have a choice. It is slavery no matter how you look at it. They don’t even have much value. If they die or become too sick to work there are many others to replace them with. Little brothers and sisters are sitting at home wondering when the people who took their brother or sister will be back for them. That is no life for anyone, let alone a child.

A single donation in Thailand charities can make a difference. Not a large difference, but it can help when it is added to all the other donations. Even though Thailand is a developing country there is unfortunately immense poverty. Children are being sold for a few dollars to feed the other children in the home or for drugs. They are sold for sex or labor. Men are turning to younger and younger prostitutes because the older ones have a higher chance of having HIV or AIDS. Tourists come from other countries to have sex with children. It is simply business. Children are seen as a commodity, something to make money from, not to cherish and raised with love and understanding. There are many charitable organizations trying to change that. There is a lot to change in Thailand. Poverty and lack of education are the causes, so a good solution it to try and change the situation of poverty and to educate. There are several charities with the focus of reducing the effects of poverty in Thailand. They will take your donation in Thailand and use it to feed and house people, families. They will cloth them and provide education. They believe in treating the cause not the symptoms.

Other donation in Thailand charities will be used to treat the symptoms. The poverty is causing women to turn to prostitution, or to sell their children. The children may go to a manufacturing factory, general labor, drug trafficking or the sex trade. Children taken from their mothers are forced to service people one way or another, often never seeing their families again. This is simply not ok. Often a donation in Thailand charities will be used to help these children. To give them a safe place to live. To make sure the people using them face charges, and actually see the inside of a court. A donation in Thailand charities may also be used to treat those who have been abused. There are emotional issues they may never fix. Many have developed HIV or AIDS and have not had medical support. Often they have no education or means to take care of themselves or earn a living. It takes money to feed and house the broken ones we call survivors.
