They are attracted to the island for its vibrant marine life, which can be found living off the area’s rich coral reef. The area has its own diving centre located on the beach and visitors can expect to see sharks and barracudas, as well as red snappers and even sea turtles.

But whilst many people choose to visit the due of its flora and fauna, many people choose to spend time simply relaxing in one of Cayo Coco’s luxury hotels. This island has Ernest Hemingway’s stamp of approval and has hosted the Ernest Hemingway fishing tournament since 1959. Here you can also try your hand at catching a number of different species of fish, from swordfish, to barracuda and marlin, which your host will happily cook on an onboard barbecue for you at the end of the evening.
