The dwarf hamsters are very adorable and sensitive creatures. These need regular and extensive care of the owner. The owners need to know as much as he can to get the best care for the hamsters. One of the aspects of taking care of the hamster is sexing them. The owner should be able to distinguish between the male and the female hamster, as in case if these are put together in a cage, the female would get pregnant. These creatures are sexually quite matured fro an early age. Unless you want to have baby dwarf hamsters you should not be putting the male and the female hamsters together.

Once the female hamster has given birth to the baby dwarf hamsters you need to be very particular about things. You should invest time to collect as much time as possible collecting information about the baby dwarf hamsters and the immediate care that these would need. The babies are so small that they could match the size of a quarter. This makes it indispensable for the owner to handle these with care. A small nail scratch is enough to kill a baby hamster. When they are born, their eyes are closed and they have transparent membrane like skin, which would have no fur on it. This and the fact that they would be very tiny would make these very delicate.

While you would be searching for the relevant information about the baby dwarf hamsters there are two things that you can’t afford to miss. The below mentioned is very important in case you have hamsters and you are looking forward to breed them–

1. You should not touch the baby dwarf hamsters unless they are 2 weeks or 16 days old. To be on the safer side they should have a fur coat and should have opened their eyes before you plan to even touch them. These are delicate when they are born but the reason of you being away is not that. The baby dwarf hamsters if are touched by humans before the stipulated tie by the human hand the mother could eat the baby as well. The reason is when you touch the baby you leave your scent on it and the other would not consider that baby and probably would kill or eat it. Make sure that you do no such thing as your mere touching the baby would be making it to die.

2. The second thing that you should be aware of is that when these babies are born they are prone to diabetes. Hence, the food that you provide should be extremely nutritious especially with excess protein in it. Any thing which is slightly unhealthy is enough to kill them as well. And obviously, you can’t start feeding them too soon. As you can’t touch these directly or indirectly before certain time. Once they have the fur coat and they open their eyes you would know when to feed them.

Ensure that you abide by the above mentioned two points if you want the baby dwarf hamsters to survive.
