Make Money Blogging - In Layman Terms the Steps on How I Do it and You Can Too

Now that you have made the decision to start making money blogging, the hard part is really over. Making the decision to start really is the hardest one. While the next part is not easy, you really have jumped the first hurdle.

The next most difficult thing is to keep yourself motivated and try to eliminate the negative thoughts that creep in almost every day.

These are some of the negative thoughts I have used:

1. This stuff is crap.
2. This is too hard.
3. This does not work.
4. Only the guys with products make any money.
5. blah blah blah.

The problem is that all you read about making money on the internet is words like FREE and EASY. I am here to tell you that there is nothing really easy about this so do not quit your day job just yet.

You see building an online business does take time. There is no get rich quick. However, I am living proof that with diligence and perseverance, you can make money on the internet.

So, let me tell you how I answer the negative thoughts when they creep in.

1. This stuff is crap. (Some of the stuff on the Internet really is crap, but there is some great stuff too)
2. This is too hard. ( Yes it is hard at times but remember (quitters never win)
3. This does not work. (Some of this stuff really does work)
4. Only the guys with products make any money. (Not true, affiliate marketing is a beautiful thing)
5. blah blah blah. ( got to mirror and call yourself names )

So, in layman terms, here are the steps on how I did it. (Note, there are a lot of generalities here! So take each step and research further).

1. Decide on your passion. In other words decide what you want to market online. You might want to market something you feel strongly about. You can then find products by visiting Clickank.com and search through the marketplace for something that stands out.

2. First I found a blogging platform. There are FREE ones and there are ones that cost you money. I chose to go with one where I had to pay for hosting. You see I have found that the search engines seem to like URL's (web addresses) that are more directly related to your niche. The two most known FREE platforms are Wordpress.com and Blogger. However when you create a blog with these, your URL is appended with the word blogger or blogspot. For example (mywebsite.wordpress.com) or mywebsite.blogspot.com). So, I went with the non-hosted wordpress version, (wordpress.org) and I found a hosting platform that was both robust and cheap!

3. I wanted a coach. This is just something I felt strongly about. I was not going to throw a whole lot of money at bunch of eBooks that said the same thing with just a different spin. So, I did a whole lot of research and I set a budget for what I would be willing to spend. This is important because you will think before you leap and you won't just throw good money away.

4. Next I wanted help with blogging content and article marketing. You see I learned that you can market your make money blog cheaply if you have great content for article writing and blog posts. So, after a lot of research, I found some tools that have really jump started my business for both of these tasks.

One I had all this in place, it was just a matter of diligence and perseverance. I block out an hour or two every day to blog, write articles, comment on other blogs (for linkbacks) and add my posts to places like digg.com, zimbio.com, dropjack.com, technorati.com etc.

Now, I want to tell you something about purchasing tools on the Internet that help you get started in your business. This is actually one of the hidden benefits. You will now be on the creator of the products email list. And...Yes you will get emailed with offers OFTEN. However, the greatest thing is this. You don't have to buy! However, the FREE offers that come with these solicitations are priceless. I almost always take them up on the free stuff and I almost always pick up new ideas with it. You might get annoyed by the solicitations. However, read the offer and if not interested, DELETE IT!
