Nowadays, refilling printer ink is no longer just for computer experts, it has become a common alternative even among ordinary people. Printer ink refillable kits are already available that allow anybody to refill their printer ink cartridges anytime from a handy form bought at a local computer supply store.

The cost aspect of refilling printer ink is the issue, after all a refill that will fill multiple cartridges can be bought for a couple of bucks. A cartridge will usually cost many times that and so far economic reasons, refilling seems an easy choice.

For the first time user of refillable printer ink, it can usually be very difficult, stressful first attempt that ends up in a stained carpet or table and even a damaged computer printer. The problem is, printer ink cartridge were just never manufactured to be refilled and it is not in the manufacturer’s interest to make it an easy process. Refilling usually involves drilling into the printer ink cartridge with a tiny screw and using a syringe then injecting the printer ink.

If you can manage to fill a printer ink without any hassle then you will usually find the printer ink will perform well and your computer printer will continue working for quite a while. These days, many printer ink cartridges not only contain the ink, but also most of the mechanics of the computer printer head, and it cannot be replaced easily, and they are disposable.

Refilling printer ink is fine but it is a fact that you cannot do it forever, eventually your cartridge will fail and clog up, especially if you are using the cheap ones, the tendency you have to buy a new one.

It is very important to consider the pros as well as the cons of using refillable printer ink, and there are some compelling reasons, aside from price, why someone would look to printer ink refill rather than buying new one.

If you look at it carefully, refilling printer ink could be a good thing for the economy as well as for the environment, because you don’t have to pay for the plastic box and no toxic remnants are wasted into the environment. As we all know, plastics can take hundreds of years to degrade, so if you’re only using refillable printer ink cartridges you’re not only helping your budget as well as the Mother Nature.

Here’s a point to remember: If your printer is inexpensive (meaning the cost of printer ink is somewhat close to or more than the cost of a new computer printer) then it is better for you to consider refilling because you have nothing to loose and one more thing, you can save a bit of money. On the other hand, if you have an expensive computer printer that you can’t really do without then it’s better for you to consider buying new one. New printer ink will be of better quality as it last longer, as long as you can live with the guilt and the cost to the budget.
