If you’ve decided that it is the right time for a brighter smile, then your dentist might recommend you the Opalescence Teeth Whitening. This is the whitening product that is been used by the dentists all over in order to give their patients the brighter and whiter teeth that they would like to have. This Opalescence Teeth Whitening system is found only in the dentists’ office. The refill supplies are available at retailers and it is available at the dentists’ office as well.

How does this whitening system work?

When you visit the dentist office for the Opalescence Teeth Whitening, first your dentist will determine your previous whitening tooth-shade so that the dentist and yourself can evaluate the efficacy of the whitening system that you have to undergo. The dentist will next prepare the Opalescence Teeth Whitening for you by covering the gums in your mouth using a dental dam that will be helpful in protecting the gum from chemicals present in the Opalescence Teeth Whitening gel.

This gel will be applied to the teeth and will be left for about 15 minutes so that it will be dried. During your visit to the dentist office, this application will be repeated thrice so that it is done perfectly. The amount of time that is taken for the complete process of teeth whitening at the dentist office is about 60 to 80 minutes.

The dentist might choose laser or curing light in conjunction along with this system but this step is not necessary. However, depending upon the condition, they can be used. This system is formulated in such a way that it has to be effective in whitening the teeth even without the need of light in the process.

It is just an option between your dentist and you as to whether you want to continue the steps of whitening at your home. Some people prefer to take the mouth guard to their home after the first session in order to continue the treatment with the whitening gel and mouth guard. This whitening process doesn’t require this step to be more effective so this step is up to the judgment of both the patient and dentist.

Carrying on with the home whitening system

If you would like to continue your treatment at your home and have decided to do so, your dentist makes a mouth guard specifically crafted for you so that it fits over your teeth correctly.

The Opalescence Teeth Whitening gel will be applied inside the guard and it is them worn for a shorter period in the day or overnight and it depends on your preferences and the recommendation from your dentist. Usually the flavorless gel will be offered in this system but you can even go with the mint and melon flavors so that it will enhance whitening experience. You can go with flavor that is suitable for you so that you can have good experience during the treatment. This system is one of the greatest systems in teeth whitening.
