Have you ever heard the terms wedding from hell or Bridezilla? These are both associated with a wedding that is very stressful. Some brides are having a complete meltdown just moments before they walk down the isle. Couples can end up questioning if they should even get married due to their constant fighting during the planning stages. Here are some tips for a stress free wedding so that you can have a great time planning it.

Be realistic about what you can have for your wedding. A couple needs to decide this up front. A budget needs to be set for the occasion because financial stress can create a ton of other problems. These days many couples are paying for their own wedding instead of their parents. Knowing who will be paying for what is very important. Bargain hunt as much as you can so that the money you do have for the wedding can be spread out.

Next, the couple should be deciding on what type of wedding they want. It is going to be something elaborate with tons of people? Will it be small and intimate with only the closest friends and family members in attendance?

Consider some things that must be in place. For example there may be a specific location for the wedding that one or both of the people getting married feel has to be a part of the occasion. Allow each to convey those strong messages and to include them. Then compromises can be made in association with the other elements of the wedding.

We all have lots to do in our lives already, so planning a wedding can be very hard to fit in. Allow other people to help with many aspects of it. By delegating aspects of the wedding into the hands of others you will relieve your own stress. It is a great way for you to be able to take care of those aspects of it that you do need to be hands on for.

Early planning for a wedding is important. Things like the location, the photographer, and even ordering flowers need to be done as soon as you have your date. The good locations as well as other people to provide things book up fast. You don’t want to be turned away from your first choice because they can’t fit you into their schedule.

Giving yourself the span of about one year seems like a long time, but it will go by very quickly. If you have even less time than that to plan your wedding then you need to hurry. Make a checklist of what you have to have done, and then assign a timeframe for it. Keep all of your notes and contacts about the wedding in one place. That way you don’t have to spend time tracking it all down.

Make time for conversations and events that don’t have anything to do with the wedding as well. It is amazing how that concept can overshadow all that you do from that moment until they big day arrives. Have a date night with the person you are about to marry – with a rule that nothing about the wedding can come up for the evening.

The more simplistic you can make your wedding overall, the less stress you will experience during the planning of it. Keep in mind that there may be things that occur that aren’t perfect but at the end of it you will still have a wonderful wedding. Keep your mind on the important aspects of it and what you can control. Having realistic expectations will help you as well.
