All You Need Is Love

It is not easy for everyone to profess their love to one another in words. The three words “I love you” are a quick and precise way of letting someone know how you feel. However, the classic saying that actions speak louder than words often holds true. Do we show others in our daily lives that we love them? How do we let them know how we feel about them when words just aren’t enough? There are several simple things that we can do any day, or every day, of our lives to help us let our loved ones know that they are special.

Children or Grandchildren are our most precious gifts. They are also the easiest to show love to. Some simple ideas for showing our children how much we love them are helping them do their homework, reading to them, playing games together, watching a movie, taking them for a walk or bike ride, have a picnic at the park, or make them their favorite meal. Many children are so easy to please, as the simplest of things tend to make them smile and become overjoyed. Remember that our children are the future and showing them your love will give them a strong sense of security that will surround them for a lifetime.

Spouses and partners will also enjoy a feeling of love when a kind act is committed on their behalf. For instance, taking over a chore that typically belongs to your spouse, such as mowing the lawn, is an obvious act of love. Make your spouse or partner their favorite meal for dinner and point out that you did it just for them. Take time out to watch a movie together, remembering to choose one that your partner will enjoy. Suggest doing something together that you know your spouse enjoys, such as going for a drive or watching a football game. No matter the plan of action you choose, make sure they understand that you are doing it for them because you love them. Sit back and enjoy the feeling you get when doing something kind for the one you love.

What can we do for our parents and grandparents to show them we love them? As they age, the importance of showing your love becomes even more important. How about a simple phone call or a letter to those that live far away? And for those close in vicinity, why not make a special meal or bring them a special dinner from their favorite restaurant. Better yet, if feasible, take them to their diner of choice and treat them to a nice meal. Parents and Grandparents probably enjoy feeling your love more than anyone. They have helped shape you into who you are today. Letting them know how grateful you are and how much you love them is a feeling they will have for the rest of their days.

Many of us have other people in our lives that we love. Be mindful of your friends and siblings, as well. They to will enjoy feeling the love. Our lives and the people in them are so varied, and therefore each suggestion of showing your love may not apply to all situations. However, just getting the idea of showing your love to the very special people in your life, everyday if possible, will help you to come up with your own plan of action. Actions do speak louder than words. Make it a point to let your loved ones know how you feel by offering yourself to them. Show your love and you will be rewarded with a sense of joy and happiness. And, more importantly, your loved ones will benefit immensely simply from knowing they are loved by you.
