You Can’t Make Money Online By Chuck Crawford At Isnare.com Ezine Articles

I recently wrote a post in a forum about becoming a success on the web ( http://www.affiliatewebsitedesign.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=977 ) which brings me to today's article.

And it's just a simple question for you to ask yourself.

Do you have what it takes to be a success online? At this point I'm assuming that you've either built your own website or had someone build it.

You've loaded it with Adsense, or Yahoo Publisher and you're sitting back waiting for the checks to start filling the mailbox. But you realize that you're site has been up for a few months now, and that big fat check that you were hoping for still hasn't come. You check your stats and to your surprise there's not any money in there that is owed to you.

What happened? What went wrong? All those ebook and ebay guys swore I'd make ten thousand dollars a month if I'd just put up my website the way they told me to.

But yet, no money.

I've got news for you boys and girls, ladies and gents. Your website is worth NOTHING if it has no visitors. That's what most of the ebook and ebay guru's neglect to tell you. They filled your head with words like 'we make 4,000 a month with a similar site' or, '$300 a day without any work!'

So you shell out your $59 and actually believe the hype. But if it were that simple to make a 500% profit don't you think every fortune 500 company out there would be putting as much cash as they could into similar sites? Think about it for a minute. If this ebay guru were really making $300 a day from the site, why in the heck would he sell it to you for $59????

Simple. The site is worthless without people to visit it. If there is no one to click your links, then obviously your not going to get paid for those links.

You MUST actually promote the site. There are several ways to do this, but today we'll focus on a few of the free methods.

First of all, write articles. There are now about a million article directories out there that will publish your article with your link in the footer, absolutely free. Write an article on your website's topic and then submit it to them until you just can't submit anymore.

Second. Get involved in forums. Most forums allow you to post your link/links in your signature line. It's best to post in forums that relate to your topic, but if you don't want to do that, post in ANY forum. Find something that interests you, that way you can actually get into some of the conversations in the forum and be involved. Let me make this clear, DO NOT SPAM. A drive by post stating 'visit my website' is not what we are after.. Actually get involved in the conversation and in the forum. If you do, those people will visit your website. Voila, traffic!

The bottom line is simply this. You MUST promote your website and get actual people there to make money. There is no magic bullet, the magic software to make a million dollars at the push of a button does not exist. It takes work.
