Selling your house is often voted the most stressful thing you can do in life. Even those who move fairly regularly can suffer when it comes to selling the family home and moving on. Imagine how much more stressful it is if you’re selling your home because you’re already in financial or personal difficulty.

The number of people facing repossession in the UK may be static at present, but that doesn’t make it any less stressful if the home being threatened is yours. Whether you’ve been unable to make mortgage payments, or you’re struggling with other financial debts, the fact that you’re also faced with losing your home piles more strain on your already tense shoulders.

So what is it that makes this situation so stressful?

• Family – if you are supporting a family, the last thing you want to do is uproot them. You need to take your whole family’s wants and needs into account and these are often conflicting, resulting in lots of discussion, often heated, about your circumstances and the possible outcomes.

• Money – if it’s lack of money or unwise spending that’s got you into trouble in the first place, you will already be facing problems in paying bills, buying essentials like food and maintaining cars or children’s activities. Selling your home through an estate agent means additional costs, which you may feel you can’t afford.

• Self-esteem – being forced to sell your home because you’ve failed to keep up payments can be a huge blow to your self-esteem and self-confidence. At a time where you need to be focused on sorting out your financial problems, you can suffer from depression, be susceptible to other illnesses and find it difficult to concentrate on anything.

• The future – where will you live once your home has been repossessed or sold? Will you be able to keep your current life or will you need to start again? Will you ever be able to borrow money so that you can buy another house?

There is a way to take all these stresses out of your house sale, particularly if you’re in debt or you’re facing repossession. Specialist companies will buy your home in a fraction of the time it takes to go through the traditional selling process, offering you a fair value for your home and going even further than that – helping you to find accommodation elsewhere, talking to your creditors for you; even renting your home back to you so that you don’t have to move out at all. If you’re looking for a quick and convenient way to sell your home, talk to one of these specialists as soon as possible.
