Parenting is one of the most difficult tasks in the world. That is why good leadership skills and qualities are needed. If you are a parent, you are responsible for your children's behaviors, education, health, life, and the list goes on...

Primarily, the parents are responsible to setup good role models, in which the children can follow. No other people are responsible for that besides the parents. Children like to look up to parents like no other people in the world. Children may go through life saying, "When I grow up," I want to be like mom or dad.

If the child states this, you will definitely feel the warmness in your heart. This statement alone will inspire you to realize how important leadership qualities and achieving these qualities are, thus you want to set good examples. Remember being a parent is one of the toughest jobs in the world. That is why I am going to give you a few tips to think about on your journey through parenthood.

Favoritism

Favoritism is a bad example and will incur hate, envy, resentment, and the like. Children are people too and they expect to be treated equal.

Even though this may be hard to do, you will thank me in the future. As your children grow up allow them to grow up knowing that your love is shared among all of them not just one of them. If you only have one child however, this may go a little different since you only have one child to spoil. However, if you have more than one child you can participate in activities with all of the children as a family, such as sports and hobbies. You need to let the children know that you enjoy doing stuff with them. Another way that you can show that you do not have favorites is at what time one of your children get in trouble for doing something and then another one turns around and does the same thing, accordingly both children should receive the same discipline. You should not punish one without punishing the other child.

Mistakes

Do not act as if you are better than your children are. By saying this I am telling you not to criticize them for things that they do, that you know that you done yourself as a child. You know how the saying, "you reap what you sow." At what time your children make mistakes you should give them advice, punish them accordingly, and tell them that they need to learn from their mistakes as well as your own. Do not lock them out of the real world, if you do then at what time they grow older, the children will rebel against you. Children are going to make mistakes it is up to you to be a role model for them and help them learn from their mistakes.

Be Open to Your Children

Never keep secrets from your children. If there are problems between you and your spouse, you should tell your children about it together. However, it is wise to avoid arguing in front of the children. The reason that I suggest this is because if you do not tell them and then things do not work out, you will be the one that they blame, on the other hand, it can backfire, and they may blame themselves instead. Another thing that you may not want to hide from your children is your habits. You will find that if you do something that you tell your children not to do and they find out, that your children will go behind your back and do it regardless of what you say because then they can say "well you do it, why I cannot do it". It is up to you as the parent to set the rules in your house.

Conclusion

Well, being a parent is tough, but you can still learn through parenting how to achieve leadership qualities and in the process, you will learn how to unleash the leader within you. Learning leadership qualities through parenting can also help you on the job as far as handling your boss or other employees.
