Broad horizons spread beyond
Witness seized in open awe
Time converges natures bond
Cast in stone for ever more

Naked hollow, coarse and raw
Vista cast in natures mould
Native Indian struck in awe
Silence greets the world untold

Solitude hails the morning sun
Tepidity bathes an arid land
Gorge and nature join as one
Beauty just as nature planned

Meandering river twists and turns
Drifts its course, patience rife
Tranquillity, which man can learn
Endless flowing vein of life

Raging torrent, ebb and flow
Shooting rapids fleet and swift
Winding current way below
Eternal tide that shaped the cliff

Peace
Submitted by: Steven Cronin

I prayed for love and peace on earth Undying calm to ease the fear A tranquil and halcyon birth And sanctuary for those held dear I prayed for solace, peace of mind An end to war and butchery For peaceful means to show the blind To honour faith and make them see And past an age of bleak despair About this nightmare, I awoke And slowly I became aware The Lord had heard, and then He spoke And God said love, and be as one To tolerate, and turn the cheek Abide the grief, it will be gone Acquaint your will and guide the weak And God said heed your fellow man Bestow relief and fill his bowl To overcome the tyrants plan For peace shall grow within the soul...

Kunlun Shan mountains border north Soaring peaks that bathe in cloud Man and beast trek back and forth Himalaya, standing proud Fierce torrents fed from snow Yellow River, fleet and swift Religion keeps the status quo Himalaya, natures gift On broad green valleys, nomadic man Through solid earth and barren land Herds his cattle, sheep and lamb Himalaya, proud and grand Snow-capped mountains fringe the plain Where wild yak roam to and fro Braving climate, wind and rain Himalaya, friend and foe Wild sheep graze mountain meadows Crispy air pollution free Swiftly eastwards, Yangtze flows Himalaya, tranquillity...

Within the glen the dragon roars A fervid spirit beats inside Celebration will be yours Embrace the soul and let it guide Over dale and hollow land Beyond the vale and jagged shore Myths and legends told firsthand Tales that live forever more Anthems echo round the glen Tongues blessed with angelic tone Voices of a thousand men Expressing song wherefrom they’ve grown Miners toiling night and day Aching bones have took their toll Daily grind to earn their pay Homeward bound to warm the soul Snowdonia reaches to the sky Meadows bathed in evening sun Hawks and kestrels born to fly Home to roost now day is done...
