The Internet is an amazing place, with so many tools to make your daily life so much better. You can shop, bank, and keep in touch with friends and business associates easier than ever. Unfortunately with the advent of anything new there are people out there whose goal is to prey on innocent people for their own gain. With the advent of the Internet this has reared its ugly head in so many different forms over the years. One major threat to Internet users in the past two years is spyware. There is so much confusion out there about spyware and adware. There are many questions such as how do you get it on your computer, what can it do, and are there ways to protect yourself? The best way to protect yourself while online is to always be cautious and up to date on the newest threats that lurk the web.

What is Spyware? Spyware is software that you download onto your computer that tracks and gathers information about your surfing habits usually for advertising or other malicious purposes. Spyware is distributed two main ways, usually its bundled with other software you download, or it’s by downloading something you think is free. In either of these ways you most likely don’t realize you are downloading spyware which does make it hard to avoid. This is the obvious reason why millions of computers have been infected with spyware over just the past few years. You need to be careful downloading anything period! Make sure you trust the site you are downloading anything from, and be wary of anyone that offers something for free that you need to download.

Why do you need Spyware protection? Spyware has become one of the biggest dangers for computer users because Spyware can invade your PC and cause all kinds of harm. Spyware compromises your privacy as once installed it can track your behavior while you surf on the web and report that information back to servers. Spyware can cause your computer run slower than normal and affect the overall performance of your pc. Most annoyingly, you can get barraged with pop-under ads no matter what site you are on. Most concerning is you can have your personal information such as credit card, bank account and others compromised.

What is Spyspotter? Spyspotter 3.0 has now been released and is even better! We don’t just scan and clean, we defend as well! We have combined two programs into one to build a stronger program for you to protect yourself online. New spyware is released everyday and it’s important to have a great spyware remover to delete programs you don’t want on your computer. We took it one step further by adding the system defender which alerts you when programs are trying to load. You may not have realized you have downloaded a program so this way you can choose if you want it to run. If is a program you trust you can click the allow button to let it load. If you don’t remember downloading the program, or simple don’t want it to load, you can hit the block button and Spyspotter will block it from opening!

How often should I use a Spyware cleaner? Scanning your pc and cleaning it once a week is a great way to keep a clean and private computer, as well as using the system defender to block programs you don’t want active on your pc. Most other Spyware cleaners just clean your computer from Spyware, but they don’t help you block it.
