R.m.p. Monte Carlo

i sat down on the floor;
my thighs against my chest,
my chin resting on my knees,
my lower lip biting the upper one
my fingers crossed against each other...

i sighed, rolled my eyes and began to wonder.

im already sixteen yet it's still so hard to hold back my tears.

im now sixteen yet my world is still enveloped with silly fears.

i still gaze at the stars and ask if they twinkle,
and even look for an arc of color whenever rain teems.

i indulge in silly pleasures which for the others seem shallow
and drown myself in such endless dreaming of having such magnificent destinations.

im now sixteen...

are these thoughts worthy of time?

do they deserve to be welcomed everytime they attempt to visit my mind?

do i deserve such fantasies which could undoubtedly be brought to life, yet not to mine?

is shallowness a sin?
i am not guilty.

is gaiety a mistake?
i've got no regrets.

Being a kid
isn't being stupid.

This is me created to share reality with optimism;
breathed with glee as life
and the greatest achievements
i'm more than proud to share

are the upshots of my frivolity,
fruits of unmatched sweetness brought about by equally delightful roots, my entirety. ^_^

i am just sixteen. That's all i could share with you. The poem says it all. This was written as a form of self-expression. For me.. there's nothing wrong in being left out..i mean...in choosing to let the child in you remain
