You should have a large search box located at the top of your homepage, and numerous categories featuring your products that are easy to browse. Top websites have a clean design, with broad, easy to read fonts. Make sure that images load quickly; you donÕt want customers leaving because they get bored and tired of waiting. It is essential for you to display your privacy policy somewhere (usually on the homepage) of your website. This lets customers know that you will never sell or trade the information they have given you with a third party. Have a link on your categories section for your shipping and return policies, as well.

So, youÕre ready to checkout? This normally annoying process offline needs to be as quick and easy as possible in cyberspace. Your Òshopping cartÓ should be a click away from the checkout so the shopper can get in and out in the least amount of steps possible. Security is also a big issue. If your site has a secure server, let the customer know. It will most likely make them feel at ease. You should offer a variety of payment options such as Paypal, credit and debit cards, online check and money orders to name a few. A pleasurable checkout experience will ensure that the customer will return.

Increasing profits to your ecommerce business can be done simply with just a bit of transformation to your already exceptional site. In time, both your online enterprise and returns will continue to grow.
