Not only is the show told in a live documentary format, but many of the Four Seasons’ greatest hits are seamlessly interwoven into the plot, and anyone who’s ever listened to music will recognize many of these transcendent hits. This aspect of the show has motivated many otherwise non-thespians to purchase Jersey Boys tickets simply for the musical value present in every show.

The show opened with a bang, and many estimate that the first day of its run at the August Wilson Theatre grossed almost $500,000.00. Jersey Boys also enjoyed recognition for more than just its revenue generation, however, as the show won four 2006 Tony Awards, including the “big” one - Best Musical.
