As we all know, submitting article to article directories is one of the most effective ways to draw free traffic to your website. However, many at times marketers do not know the long term benefit that it will generate. Simply because, they lack the effort to submit an article consistently or the content of it lacks interest and depth.

However those that succeed will realize that writing an article can generate multiple links to their website or business for a long time. It is all about good free content article which will attract the traffic you desire.

Ok now, here are the 4 guidelines to write your article:

1. First things first, find an interesting topic which is related to your website or business. Then create a catchy title for your article. For example, your topic is on dog training, you can have a title that looks like “Training Your Dog the Positive Way” instead of just “Dog Training”.

2. After deciding on the title, you move on to the content which is the soul of the article. Apart from having a nice catchy title, the content is equally as important. Why? This is the part where reader wants to get reliable information which is useful to them. So make sure you deliver what the readers are looking for. Good content attracts more reader and thus more traffic to your website.

3. Organize your content in paragraphs. You want a systematic flow of your article so that readers can absorb your information better. Always include a description or an introduction go give the reader an idea on what you are writing about – keep it sweet and short as you want your reader to be “warmed up”. After which, you put in your main content. Remember don’t throw your content into one paragraph. Try to break them so that readers can conceptualize better. Lastly, include a short conclusion of the article.

4. Last but not least, you want to include a resource box. In your resource box, you give a brief description about yourself. Do include your website or email so that readers can refer back to you for more information on other related subject.

Having understood the steps to write a good article, I want to highlight to you that you need to be consistent and diligent in submitting your article. Discipline yourself and submit 2 – 3 times a week and in months time you will see the results. It maybe tough initially but as you submit more, the more article is being circulated on the internet, more exposure, more readers, more traffic, more profits you will earn.
