Treat Your Hair Right To Help It Grow

When you want to grow your hair out long you need to treat it right. That doesn’t just mean washing it with the right shampoo and using the right hairbrush. It also means treating yourself right.

If your body doesn’t get everything it needs to be healthy, your hair cannot grow long, strong and healthy. Leafy green vegetables, for example, provide you with some great vitamins for your hair. Keeping yourself hydrated helps with blood flow. Each of these helps to keep your scalp healthy, so your hair can be healthy.

No doubt you don’t enjoy being stressed, and it’s bad for your hair too. Stress can actually increase the rate of hair loss.

Some medications are bad for your hair. If you need it, there’s just nothing to be done for that, but if you want to grow long hair don’t take medications, even over the counter ones, unless you need them.

If you want to take a few extra steps, try doing a scalp massage every few days. Heck, if you’re married, trade scalp massages. They feel good and they’re good for your hair.

One of the mistakes people make when trying to grow their hair out long is getting it cut too often. Getting rid of the split ends is a good thing. However, you can go a long time between haircuts if you choose, even a year or more. Get some good hair cutting scissors (not your household scissors), and trim the split ends off as necessary.

Go to the salon no more than twice a year and make sure your stylist understands that you are growing your hair out, and they are to cut as little as possible. Many stylists are too used to cutting hair for shorter styles, and cut off all your progress while calling it a trim.
