Finding the perfect stunning engagement ring can be even harder than asking your lady for her hand in marriage. Finding the perfect engagement ring will take some research on your part and web pages like The Engagement Ring Guide should help you!

It is very important to know the ring size of your girlfriend in order to buy the correct sized ring. It will be a very uncomfortable moment if when you present her with the ring it does not fit on her finger! Talk about ruining a romantic moment. If you don’t know her ring size, think of a smart way to find out so she won’t know what you are up to. Try an online survey like the ones people send around on emails or MySpace with ring size as one of the questions or ask one of her closest friends to find out for you but be careful about that as you don’t want the friend to tell your girlfriend about your plans.

Finding an engagement ring source can be as simple as logging onto the internet and surfing the web. I highly suggest using the internet as it’s a very reliable, informative, and secure way of finding the perfect ring. You will get great service and free delivery along with a vast ring selection and probably most importantly you won’t have to deal with the pressure of a salesman pushing you to buy.
How much money should you spend? It’s standard for a man to spend two to three months salary on an engagement ring. If you make about $3000 per month then your engagement ring purchase should be between $6000 and $9000 for example.

A man should always choose the engagement ring that best fits his woman. If you have heard your girlfriend mention her perfect engagement ring then obviously you are ahead of the game. But if you haven’t then it’s important to think about what type of girl she is. Is she traditional or modern? If she is traditional, you should ask her parents for her hand in marriage and take that chance (hopefully after they have said Yes.) to ask them what kind of ring their daughter would like. Her mother should be of particular assistance. Traditional women are highly interested in the quality, clarity and carat of the ring. Traditional cuts would be best suited for her, probably a princess cut or round cut.

If your woman is more spontaneous, independent, and eccentric then she may not be the type of girl that needs or wants you to ask her parents before you ask her to marry you. Platinum or silver bands are most likely preferred over the standard gold band and she may enjoy other diamond colors such as pink or yellow rather than the standard clear. She is probably interested in more unique or patented cuts such as a slope, mixed or marquis cut.

Regardless of the type of woman you are planning on spending the rest of your life with it’s very important that you buy her the perfect ring as this will be a major moment in your relationship. This can be a fond memory for the rest of her life (one she won’t often forget about because it’s right on her hand to remind her.) or a not so fond memory that will as mentioned always be there to remind her! So please use the resources I’ve mentioned to make sure you pick out and buy the perfect ring!
