Do you need storage cabinets in your garage? First consider whether all that junk can be dealt with in some other way -- either disposed of (or donated), or put into storage bins and cardboard boxes. Storage cabinets are generally for things you actually use -- don't let the word "storage" mislead you. These cabinets should be where items like paintbrushes and screwdrivers are kept, not where you shove things you don't plan to use again.

If you're a regular woodworker, auto-tinkerer or do-it-yourselfer, you've probably accumulated a lot of tools related to your hobbies. Storage cabinets can be a stylish way of organizing them, more aesthetically pleasing than a big steel toolbox.

Cabinets, along with proper lighting (a rarity in a garage), goes a long way toward making your workspace look clean and inviting. It's safer, too, when all your "stuff" is put away instead of left lying on a workbench or on the ground.

Once you've decided to get storage cabinets, you can either build them yourself or have them installed. Cabinets aren't always easy to build, though, and they can be purchased pre-built (or even custom-made) relatively cheaply from several online outlets and at home improvement stores.
