If you talk about anti aging which is a continuous process, then I must say that prevention is much better than cure. If you feel you are looking older than last year, it shows that your efforts to hide your age are futile. All you need are some serious efforts with an anti aging cream to help you.
Companies use words like collagen and elastin in their ads to give an impression that these anti aging face creams are certainly beneficial in decreasing wrinkles of the face. Levels of elastin and collagen decreases as age wears on and since these skin creams promise to offer the two chemicals, many people buy and apply these creams without even consulting a physician.
1.) Can you view the ingredient list? While some may disagree with me, it's my opinion that if the company selling an anti aging skin care product doesn't disclose what it's made of keep looking. The companies that are most well known for not disclosing their ingredients strange enough are the larger cosmetic and skin care companies that we're all familiar with.
2.) How Much Does it Cost? While price shouldn't be the determining factor it's important to take into consideration how much of the cost do you feel goes towards marketing and advertising for that product, and how much goes towards an effective formulation of peptides, vitamins and antioxidants in the cream. If you feel a product is more heavily weighted in advertising and marketing costs keep looking.
3.) What are the Ingredients? While being able to see the list of ingredients is key, you need to know what to look for. A few of the active ingredients you should look for are: Matrixyl, Argireline, Vitamin C, Alpha Lipoic Acid and DMAE are just a few of the ingredients you should look for. Note that an anti aging cream doesn't need to contain all of these, but the more the better.
4.) What Claims does the Product Make? Even the best anti aging creams are not going to produce results similar to cosmetic procedures. If they were capable of doing that then they'd be medicine. Watch out for lofty claims made by anti aging treatments. While many can reduce the appearance and feel of wrinkles, fine lines and even dark circles around the eyes they can't get rid of them forever. If claims seem too good to be true, they probably are.
5.) Look for a Guarantee. Since these are over the counter skin care products there's a chance that they won't work for every person and skin type. It's important that if you're going to spend $150-$200 on a tube of cream you should have some protection if it doesn't produce the results you expect. The best protection for consumers buying anti aging products is a money back guarantee. Look for products that offer a minimum of 30 days, and 60-90 days is even better.
