Springtime often inspires fresh starts and new beginnings. After the hectic holiday season comes to a close, people tend to shift their focus to cleaning out the clutter of winter and getting outdoors to enjoy the more pleasant weather. Like many women, you’re probably thinking ahead to bikini season. As the temperatures climb and you change your wardrobe accordingly – perhaps donning shorts and a tank top for the first time in months – it’s possible that you might notice a bulge or two that weren’t there before. Or, when trying on a new swimsuit, maybe you don’t fill it out quite as nicely as you would like.

In addition to warm breezes and vibrant blooms, spring is the season for cosmetic surgery. You’ll want to look and feel your best on your first trip to the beach or pool, and when you consider the typical recovery times associated with liposuction, breast enhancement, and Brazilian buttock augmentation, spring is the optimal time to have these procedures performed. This schedule can give your body adequate time to heal, allow scars to fade, and reduce limitations on sun exposure when the time comes to shed layers and participate in warm-weather fun.

Of course, every patient is unique and thus will recover from surgery at a different rate. Plus, there are many variables associated with cosmetic procedures. Nevertheless, even if you have not quite reached your final look and size by summertime, you should still look and feel confident and bikini ready if you schedule your procedure during the spring months.

To help you achieve a beautifully contoured, beach-ready silhouette by summer, here are some of the cosmetic procedures that you might consider having performed during the spring:

• Liposuction – Liposuction targets localized pockets of fat – typically in the abdomen, hips, flanks, thighs, or back – to improve the overall contour of the body. The procedure usually entails one or more small incisions made in the natural folds of the skin through which a surgeon will repeatedly insert a thin suction tube to break down and remove excess fat cells. When coupled with weight maintenance and a healthy lifestyle, the results of liposuction can be long-lasting.

• Breast Enhancement – If your breasts are naturally small or have lost volume due to weight loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the natural aging process, you’ll fill out your swimsuit better after a breast enhancement procedure. A trusted surgeon can guide your decision-making with respect to implant type and size and incision placement, among other things. In addition to increasing the size of your breasts, breast augmentation surgery can improve their symmetry and restore their shape and firmness. Also, if your breasts sag, a breast lift can be performed in conjunction with a breast enhancement procedure to remove excess skin and position your breasts higher on your chest wall.

• Brazilian Buttock Augmentation – A surgeon can create an attractive, feminine curve and more rounded rear through a combination of liposuction, fat transfers, and tissue manipulation. The procedure typically begins with liposuction to remove bulges from another area of the body. After excess fat is gently harvested through a cannula to protect the live cells, the fat is purified and small amounts are injected into the muscle layers of the buttocks to create a more well-defined and shapelier derriere.

To help ensure that you can confidently take part in all that summer has to offer, it’s best to plan ahead. You can begin by scheduling a personal consultation with an experienced cosmetic surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Together, you can plan a customized look that you will enjoy for many summers to come.
