What are all its Causes?
Naturally prone to allergy or trigger due to airborne allergens (house dust, cockroaches) and irritants (tobacco smoke).
Hypersensitive to some allergens like pollens, hair, moulds, animal dander, grass, lint and grains.
Environmental factors like – Air Pollution or Fluctuation/Change in weather.
Some biologic triggers like infections, dietary patterns, hormonal changes in women etc.
It could be childhood respiratory infection
Some drugs and medications are also responsible for it, e.g. Aspirin and non-steroidal drugs.
Digestive disorders or problem in gastrointestinal tract might be the reason.
According to Ayurveda Asthma predominantly is a kapha syndrome but bronchial asthma can be from either due to three doshas vata, pitta or kapha.
Vaata type asthma, is characterized by dry cough and wheezing.. Attacks occur predominantly at vata time—dawn and dusk.
Pitta type asthma is characterised by cough and wheezing with yellow phlegm. Attacks are at pitta time—noon and midnight.
Kapha type asthma is characterised by cough and wheezing with abundant clear or white phlegm. The lungs are often congested producing a whistling sound. Attacks are at kapha time—morning and evening.
Symptoms of Asthma:
Every person that suffers from asthma may not have same symptoms in the same way. Symptoms might be similar or have different at different times.
Shortness of breath occurs
Breathlessness at the time of attack
Wheezing, a hissing sound at exhalation (breathe out)
Tightness and pain in the chest develops.
Frequent cough at night
Sign of cold develops like sneezing, nasal congestion and sore throat are common, and some comfort during sitting.
Suffering with severe anxiety
Feeling of itching in throat and chin
Uneasiness in body and palpitation
Cold and Mucus formation
Weakness and feeling of tiredness while performing any physical activity
Tiredness after exercise and enhance pulse movement
Darkening under lower part of eyes might develop.
Difficult in speaking
Headache, running nose, etc.
Perspiration is also common symptom.
There might be difficulty in hearing
